Comparative characterization of microstrip patch antenna array with defected ground structure for biomedical application

In this paper, microstrip dual band antenna array with defected ground structure has been proposed for low frequency wearable on-body applications. The simulated Cotton, Polyimide, Polyester and Teflon (PTFE) flexible materials which are mostly used biomedical performance of 2x2 trapezoidal patch partial ground, thin slot defection at center studied in terms return loss, VSWR, power handling capability, radiation pattern surface current distribution. All substrates exhibits acceptable fractional bandwidth below -10 dB Cotton proves its superiority than other -20 -48 loss 16.12% 7.73% 1.24 GHz 1.94 respectively. proper matching proved VSWR value 1.3 all substrates. observation input port impedance shows that, good nearly to 50 Ω PTFE 100 poor matching. four exhibit omnidirectional H plane 1.43 dBi gain bidirectional E 1.4 support ideal fitness material medical
